You might be expecting a list of very useful dowsing contacts here but you'll need to go to for that.

Instead, and just as important, here are our favourite fish and chip places:

Sanders in Foundry Square, Hayle, Cornwall

Becks on Longstone hill, Carbis Bay, St Ives, Cornwall

... and if you happen to be dowsing at Tregeseal stone circle, the holed stones, Carn Kenidjack and around St Just in west Cornwall there will be a good fish and chip meal at the Queen's Arms in Botallack.

But beware the 'No Go By' lane on the way to the Queen's Arms!   If you miss the turning, you'll end up in 'Devil's Way' and then onto the moor.  Sorry but there'll be no sign of you then for a year and a day, (or nine years, depending on the legend).

The advantage is that, when you finally return, you won't look a day older.  And there will still be fish and chips at the Queens Arms.

NB It is never advisable to dowse on an empty stomach.
